flood
This picture was taken from the east end of what was Nonconnah Yard, looking east. Today, this is the east end of Harrison Yard and things have not changed much. "A" Yard was the name of the northbound classification yard and is directly behind the photographer. East JCT is just to the left of this picture where the wye runs into the track in the background. The wye is called the "City Wye." The high track in the background is the Grenada District. There are also two tracks that go under the bridge in the background that lead around Memphis and on to Fulton, KY. The bridge in the foreground that the train is on top of goes over Nonconnah Creek. All of these tracks are still here today. As a result of this flood, Nonconnah Yard was raised several feet.
