Fred retired in 2004 with 34 years of service with the IC and Johnny was killed in a tragic accident at work in December of 1998. The train in the siding is a southbound freight that was detouring because of a derailment on the Yazoo District. The train's crew hogged here at Grenada and is currently awaiting a new crew.

Title:  Batesville Local
Description:  Batesville Local northbound approaching Papermill Road, a few miles north of Grenada. This was probably the best job to be on. They would go to work at 10:00, take their train 45 miles north to Batesville and return home, sometimes working 2 or 3 small customers, but somedays going straight there and back, usually getting off at 2 or 3 PM.
